A note on the teahouses: while most were superbasic and foodsafety seemed a matter of mere chance, there were three guesthouses that exceeded expectations.

Machapuchare Guesthouse and Restaurant: not as crowded as up at Annapurna Guesthouse, so you might get a single room, and food was superyummy and safe. Try their garlic soup to help with the altitude.

Excellent View Guesthouse at Chomrong: super location: you get to see Annapurna South and Fishtail from your room’s balcony or even window. Also: yummy food. Also: best hot shower while on trek. And its free!

Captain Laligurans Guesthouse at Landruk: we only had lunch there but the place is beautifully decorated with paintings on the pillars and many flowerpots and we had the best Dal Bhaat of stay in Nepal. Dont miss it!
